Kehilateinu
Kehilateinu, is Temple Sholom's LGBTQIA+ Pride club. Co-presidents Danny Lybbert and Cae Rosch Sandeen, along with the support of board member Kim Werker and Cantor Shani Cohen, are working together to organize a gender-inclusive addition to Temple Sholom’s community group offerings.
Kehilateinu will welcome LGBTQIA+ community members and their friends, family, and allies for social, educational, and philanthropic events aimed at fostering camaraderie among those on this unique path through Jewish life. The group will function, alongside Sisterhood and Men’s Club, as a third pillar of support and community to enhance the already-rich social fabric those groups have established at Temple Sholom.

Sisterhood AGM, Installation & Sara's Cookbook Release Party

Sisterhood AGM, Installation & Sara's Cookbook Release Party
AGM/Board Installation and Sara's Kitchen 2nd Edition Cookbook Release Party
When: Sunday, June 8 at 2:00pm at Temple Sholom
Please RSVP to sisterhood@templesholom.ca to let us know if you're planning to attend.
Your presence is enthusiastically requested at Sisterhood's 2025 Annual General Meeting. This is a vital opportunity to join the entire Sisterhood membership in making key decisions about the future of our beloved organization. You'll have a chance to meet and talk with Sisterhood Board members, both current and incoming. We have some exciting new faces joining our Board, and trusted leaders stepping into new roles. We look forward to seeing you there, and hearing your voice! Immediately following the AGM we will install our new board members with a short ceremony.
The purpose of the annual meeting is to:
- Receive the report on the financial statements for the year ended April 30, 2025;
- Elect a slate of officers and trustees for the year June 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026;
- Conduct any other business properly brought before the meeting.
Important reminder: Your 2025-2026 Sisterhood membership must be current in order to vote at, and participate in this meeting.
You will be receiving the proposed slate of officers via a separate email two weeks before the AGM.
Sara's Kitchen 2nd Edition Cookbook Release Party
After the AGM/Installation we will proceed out to the Temple's patio for a release party for the new edition of Sara's Kitchen cookbook, with all profits supporting Sara's favourite charities through our Sisterhood Comunity Fund. Anyone who has already pre-ordered their copy will be able to pick it up and we will have additional copies for sale. (In the future the cookbook will also be available to order on demand via Amazon). We're asking that people bring in their favorite recipe to share. A PDF of the first edition of the cookbook can be found here for anyone who doesn't have a copy of the original and wants to participate in bringing in a dish from the cookbook.

Sholom Shishim Lunch & Learn: Life in the Dead Sea with Noam Bedein
With Noam Bedein, Photojournalist, Ecotourism Innovator & Water Diplomacy Advocate
In this multimedia presentation, Noam Bedein takes audiences on a powerful journey across the rapidly shrinking Dead Sea. Through striking time-lapse photography and 360° video from his boat expeditions, he reveals the environmental crisis—evaporation, sinkholes, and exposed salt landscapes. Yet within this decline, Bedein uncovers surprising *signs of life and resilience*, offering a message of hope from the lowest place on Earth.
Bio: Noam Bedein is an accomplished photojournalist and conservationist with a reputation for innovative ecotourism development and environmental diplomacy. As the Founder and Director of the Dead Sea Revival Project and MENAEcotourism, he has extensive experience in linking visual art to environmental diplomacy and promoting sustainability through tourism. Mr. Bedein's cutting-edge work has been recognized and endorsed by prestigious organizations such as National Geographic, CNN/VR, NASA, the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, the Bahrain Embassy in Tel Aviv, The Rwanda Development Board, and many other global news outlets and academic institutions.
