Mazel Tov to Our 2025 Jan Pollack Volunteer Recognition Award Winner, Peggy Wang
Peggy Wang began her Temple Sholom journey in 2018 while attending the JIC class. Brimming with enthusiasm, energy, and creativity, she jumped right into volunteer service after becoming a member of both Temple Sholom and Sisterhood.
She joined Sisterhood’s Knitting Circle and Tikun Olam Gogos, creating and selling handmade goods that play a vital role in fundraising. In 2020 Peggy joined the Sisterhood Board as a Trustee, and for the past two years she has taken on the challenging role of Programming Co-President, helping organize and lead dozens of engaging and memorable Sisterhood events, including teaching classes and creative workshops on crafts and cooking.
Peggy is a mother of two young boys and also runs a thriving crafting business. She devotes her time and energy to her family, her art and her community. She strongly believes when women stand together, we can change the world.
The Jan Pollack Volunteer Recognition Award annually honours a long-term volunteer who has gone above and beyond in service to Sisterhood and the Temple Sholom community. The award is a living tribute to Jan Pollack (z'l), who founded our Sisterhood and served as the first woman president of any congregation in Vancouver. Thank you to everyone who submitted nominations this year; we are proud to have so many valued Sisterhood volunteers!
